Horváth Florencia – Karádi Gergő: Valójában senki

What happens when a poet and a songwriter engage in a dialogue? For them, the lesson is clear: personal experiences become universal, and creative worlds become boundless. Within the interrelationship of literature, music, and theater, none of them can remain merely what their authorial biography suggests. They are capable of transforming into one another, of portraying different characters from the other’s life, yet they can also switch places while remaining true to themselves.

On the first day of the “Let’s Meet at Bethlen!” – New European Bauhaus festival, specifically on June 11 at 2 p.m., Valójában senki will be presented. The performance creates a universe based on Florencia Horváth’s poetry collection Hiátus, with Gergő Karádi setting some of the poems to music. Those who enter the space become part of it themselves through the interplay of text, music, and visuals.

While the performance explores the absence of a mother figure, the audience members, separated from the stage, are also confronted with the void in their own lives that corresponds to this. In this case, it is not the absence itself that is truly important, but rather what one does with it.
