You are invited to a concert dedicated to the music and creativity of Lennie Tristan, one of the most original pianists and thinkers in the history of jazz. With his unique approach to improvisation, composition, and ensemble playing,
Tristan had a significant impact on the development of modern jazz.
Although his music did not always achieve widespread recognition, today he is considered one of the key artists who pushed the boundaries of jazz expression. His influence has left a profound mark on many generations of musicians. He forged a special creative bond with musicians Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh, with whom he developed a distinctive musical language based on freedom, melodic ingenuity, and profound improvisation.
At the concert, we will present a selection of Tristan’s compositions as well as music that stems from his musical world and aesthetic principles. The evening will be an opportunity to experience jazz, which remains surprisingly contemporary, open, and inspiring even today.
